"MELIZZA"- Soft Sculpture Art Doll
Soft Sculpture Art Doll- 15"High X 11"Wide X 9"Deep
"Melizza" has a full wire skeletal armature inside, with many layers of batting "muscles"and 2 layers of nylon "skin"covering. The inner layer is bright green which slightly glows through the outer peachy layer. Her slight scale pattern in gold and green appear on arms legs and down her thin back. She has many painted details and moonlight glitter on her full lips and soles of her long slender feet. Many hours of needle sculpting and wire facial under-structures make up the fine details, muscle definition, and facial features of this sculpture. Her eyes are handmade by me and handpainted in reverse from the back. A tiny dragonfly is clamped around her glittering aqua and green hair. She sits on an organic shaped, sculpted foam and nylon cushion with beading details and airbrush painted shadows.

Outdoor, realistic size, carved concrete log sculpture designed for animals.
Created with techniques I learned while constructing exhibits for the Cincinnati Zoo.
COMMISSIONED WORK CONSIDERED for nature center, zoo, park or yard.
Log is hollow and approximately 6 ft long and weatherproof. Tinted with color pigment throughout and topcoated with color washes and sealed. Weighs approx 250 pounds, has hidden 7 inch wide flat area running full length on underside to prevent rolling. Features a "treat trough" disguised as bark along the topside back of log to encourage animals sitting atop the log where they can be viewed while enjoying treats. The trough has an open end and the entire sculpture is designed on a very slight, unnoticeable slant to avoid standing water in crevices.
Log is sculpted around commercial grade PVC pipe, covered in 1/2 inch thick flexible waterproof sheet of foam for insulation, then covered in approx 2" of carved concrete.
